Southgate Plaza is a 32-acre mixed-use development that is intended for hospitality, retail, office and restaurant uses. The mixed-use development is well-positioned at a diamond interchange outside of the toll plaza with recent traffic counts totaling over 100,000 daily near the Rental Car Facility, Airfield Drive, and the South Entrance.
DFW Airport has located its administration and other business offices to the new headquarters building at Southgate Plaza. The three-story, 154,000 square-foot building accommodates up to 525 employees and is at the south end of the Airport adjacent to International Parkway near the Rental Car Center.
In addition to the headquarters building, Southgate Plaza includes a 137-room Hyatt Place Hotel, a restaurant, a 6,000 square-foot United States Postal Service facility, plans for an emergency freestanding facility and other retail, office and restaurant pad sites. The larger Southgate development will provide opportunities for accommodations and amenities for millions of daily airline passengers, more than 122,000 daytime DFW employees and external workforce, more than 4,000 daily patrons of the Consolidated Rental Car Facility, commuter traffic, and residents of nearby cities. Additionally, bus transit connectivity to both the terminals and regional rail has been integrated into Southgate Plaza Development, bringing additional future demand to the development.
